Jill Meiring - Head Varsity
Jill is in her third season with the Bulldogs, and has extensive experience at both the high school and college level. A native of Fort Recovery, Ohio, Jill played basketball and softball in high school, before moving on to play at Denison University. There, she played both sports for 4 years and was a 3-time captain of the softball team and co-captain of the basketball team. Jill received her bachelors in Sports Administration and Pyschology from Denison in 2001, and a Masters degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2004. She coached basketball and field hockey at Transylvania University from 2001-2007. Following her time at Transy, Jill moved to Marietta College and was the head basketball coach there for 5 years. While at Marietta, Jill was also the Camp Director for Pioneer Women's Basketball Camps. Upon moving to the Cincinnati area, Jill taught and coached basketball at Hamilton High School for 2 years, and was the JV field hockey coach at Summit Country Day for one year. She is also the Assistant Athletic Director at SUA.
Ernie Hayes- Assistant Varsity
Coach Hayes is a graduate of Roger Bacon High School and Xavier University. He played basketball all four years at Roger Bacon. Following graduation, Ernie coached basketball at Finneytown and Roger Bacon, all while attending Xavier University. Coach Hayes was a part of the St. Xavier basketball program as a coach and scout for 19 years, with 7 of those years as a coach. Additionally, he has coached extensively in the Mason Community Recreation Program for the past 12 years. Ernie is currently working with DHL eCommerce as an HR Manager.
Erica Miknius - Assistant Varsity
Erica is a 2009 graduate of Oak Hills High School as well as a 2014 graduate of Mount St. Joseph University. She played basketball all four years at Oak hills & continued her career in college. Her freshman year she played basketball at Otterbein University then transferred to Mount St. Joseph her sophomore year to continue playing. At the Mount, she received her bachelor's degree in Sports Management. Erica coached the freshman team at Oak Hills High School last year and is excited to begin her first year at SUA. Erica works at the Student Technology Help desk and has been with St. Ursula for 1 year.
Mark Kleespies - Reserve Head
Mark is a graduate of the University of Dayton. He has coached at the 8th grade select level for both boys and girls at various schools including St. Andrew’s in Columbus, St. Ursula Villa and Immaculate Heart of Mary for 25 years. Mark currently is a partner at THOR Investment Management in Anderson Township as well as serving on the board for Pregnancy Center East and the advisory council at The Anthenaeum.
Nicole Bouldin - Reserve Assistant
Nicole Bouldin is a 2006 graduate of McAuley High School and its basketball program. She is also a 2010 graduate of Miami University. Nicole coached the 7th grade girls at Norwood Middle School prior to joining the SUA staff. Nicole currently is a 4th and 5th grade school teacher at Westwood School.
Mark Simcoe - Freshmen Head
Mark is a 1996 graduate of St. Xavier High School, as well as a 2000 graduate of Xavier University. He has degrees in both philosophy and biology. In 2013, he graduated from the Miami University M.A.T. in biology program. Mark has been a science teacher at SUA since 2006 and been coaching with the freshmen team since 2007. He has played on basketball teams throughout high school and club basketball in college, and has also coached on several club teams.
Delrico Hill - Freshmen Assistant
Delrico is a 2014 graduate of Saint Xavier High School and is now a sophomore at Northern Kentucky University. Hill was a former player and also a student coach of the basketball program at Saint Xavier. This is his second year with the program at SUA and he is coming into it with excitement and eagerness to provide an impact on this program this year.
Ashley Bloom - Program Assistant
Ashley graduated in 2004 from Tiffin Calvert High School in Tiffin, Ohio. While in high school, she earned varsity letters in both basketball and soccer. Upon attending Bluffton University and majoring in Sports Management, she also played soccer for four years and basketball for two years. Ashley was also the student assistant coach for the Softball program in 2008. After college she had an opportunity to run the youth baseball program at the Tiffin YMCA and has also directed several basketball. She began her coaching career as the junior high basketball and JV softball coach at Calvert for one year. After that she received an offer to coach at Hopewell - Loudon High School in Bascom, Ohio. Ashley was the head JV coach and an assistant varsity coach from 2010-2014. She has recently moved to Cincinnati where she is currently a package handler at FedEx Ground in Independence, KY.
