SUA Swimmers Set Records, Bring Home Individual Wins at State Championship

Saint Ursula Academy swimmers set the pool on fire in Canton, Ohio at the Ohio High School D1 Swimming and Diving Championships the last weekend in February. The swimmers who qualified for State set three SUA team records, and one athlete brought home two individual gold medals! 
 
Sophomore Addie Robillard ’25 won two state champion gold medals at the meet, placing first in the state in the 200-IM and 100-Breaststroke. Robillard set a school record in her Breaststroke race.  She was named OHSAA 2023 Girls Swimmer of the Meet.   
 
A school record was set in the 200-Medley Relay, which placed second overall and included Sydney Herr ’24, Addie Robillard ’25, Courtney McKeown ’23, and Audrey Zimmerman ’24.
 
A school record was also smashed in the 100-Backstroke by Sydney Herr ’24, who placed 7th overall. 
 
“We are incredibly proud of these student-athletes who are smashing goals and making SUA proud,” said Principal Dr. Mari Thomas. “Not only are these swimmers good athletes, but they are good students and people and a valued part of the SUA community.”
 
Overall, Saint Ursula Academy placed 4th in the State of Ohio, one of the most competitive swimming states in the nation. Additional results are below: 
 
RELAY RESULTS
200 medley relay (Herr, Robillard, McKeown, Zimmerman: 2nd place; new school record (lowered record from Districts)
200 free relay (McKeown, Lied, Gockerman, Zimmerman: 3rd place 
400 free relay (Gockerman, Lied, Herr, Robillard): 4th place
 
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Natalie Gockerman: 28th place in 200 free; 25th place in 100 free
Sydney Herr: 25th place in 200 IM; 7th place in 100 back (new school record)
Ellen Lange: 27th place in 200 free; 17th place in 500 free
Caroline Lied: 22nd place in 200 free; 18th place in 100 free
Courtney McKeown: 16th place in 200 IM, 8th place in 100 fly
Maddie Nixon: 26th place in 500 free
Addie Robillard: 2023 Girls Swimmer of the Meet; State Champion 200 IM; State Champion 100 breast (she set the school record at Districts)
Audrey Zimmerman: 18th place 50 free; 24th place 100 free
