Saint Ursula Seniors Participate in College Athletic Signing

Fall Signing

Saint Ursula Academy is proud of four student-athletes who participated in a signing ceremony to express their intent to play collegiate sports next fall. They are:
 
Addy Brus will play Volleyball at St. Louis University
Payton Beard will play Soccer at Ohio Wesleyan University
Lauren Link will play Soccer at Eastern Kentucky University
Callie Vonderhaar will Row at Bucknell University
 
Addy Brus will play volleyball next fall for Saint Louis University. The Division 1 Saint Louis University Billikens compete in the Atlantic 10 conference. Addy will play her games next season in the Chaifetz Pavilion in St Louis Missouri. 
 
Addy is the proud daughter of Laura and Duane Brus and resides in Sharonville. Addy is a four-year volleyball player for the Bulldogs and also ran track and field for two years.

  • Second Team All Conference Volleyball 2021
  • First Team All Conference Track 2021
  • GGCL Varsity High Jump Champion 2021

Club Team Awards and Accomplishments:
  • 17 Open AAU All American 2023
 
SUA Clubs and Student Outreach: SUA Ambassador, SOS (Matthew 25), GAA, SALT
 
Addy has been awarded the AVCA Best and Brightest.   The AVCA Best & Brightest Award is an award meant to honor individual high school Senior student-athletes who excel on and off the court. To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA.  
 
 
Payton Beard will play soccer next fall for Ohio Wesleyan University (and most likely softball as well). The Division 3 Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Payton will play her games next season at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex in Delaware, Ohio. 
 
Payton is the proud daughter of Scott and Angie Beard and resides in Monfort Heights. 
 
SUA’s sports profile: soccer, bowling, and softball
 
SUA/ GGCL Awards and Accomplishments:
  • First team GGCL in softball junior year and bowling sophomore and junior year
  • Won Bulldog Award for softball and bowling
  • 3-sport athlete all 4 years
  • Player of the Week twice for bowling
 
 
Lauren Link will play soccer next fall for Eastern Kentucky University. The Division 1 Eastern Kentucky Colonels compete in the ASUN conference. Lauren will play her games next season on the EKU Soccer field in Richmond Kentucky. 
 
Lauren is the proud daughter of Mark and Karen Link and resides in Green Township. Lauren is a three-year varsity player for the Bulldogs. 
GGCL Awards and Accomplishments: First team All Conference 2023
Club Team Awards and Accomplishments: State champions, state runner-up, and Wags champion.
She was Enquirer Soccer player of the week twice.
 
 
Callie Vonderhaar will row next fall for Bucknell University. The Division 1 Bucknell Bison compete in the Patriot League. Callie will row on the Susquehanna River in Lewisburg, PA.  
 
Callie is the proud daughter of Tim and Courtney Vonderhaar and resides in New Richmond, Ohio. 
 
Callie Rows for the Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club.
 
Her accolades include:
  • Freshman year: 
Undefeated novice season, first place in the Midwest championship in the women's novice and the women’s under 17. She went to nationals and made it to the grand finals.
  • Sophomore year:
In the Midwest Championship - 2nd place in the second varsity 8 plus and first place in Women’s u17.  Stroked the u17 8+ at US Rowing Youth Nationals and earned a medal placing second overall. 
  • Junior year:
Placed first at the head of the hooch (one of the largest fall regattas) at the end of the fall season. Starting off the spring placing first at the dogwood junior championships. Finished season winning the midwest championship in the first varsity 8+ and continued on to US Rowing youth nationals in that first varsity 8, qualifying for grand finals and placing 6th overall. 
  • Senior year: 
Throughout this fall season participated and medaled in the Head of the Ohio Regatta, Hoover Fall Classic, Blake Haxton Regatta, and Head of the Hooch Regatta. She is looking forward to another successful spring season as her senior year comes to an end! 
 
Callie’s SUA Awards and Accomplishments include first honors in all completed semesters.
 
SUA Clubs and Student Outreach include SUA ambassadors, the National Honor Society, and the Spanish National Honor Society
