St. Ursula Academy’s Huster and Niebuhr Selected to All-American Soccer Team

Cincinnati, Ohio, December 4, 2013 – St. Ursula Academy seniors Maddie Huster and Megan Niebuhr were chosen as two of the nation’s forty-four elite girls high school soccer players to participate in the First Annual High School All-American Game on December 7, 2013 in Cary, North Carolina.

Both Huster and Niebuhr were chosen to the All-American team based on their outstanding soccer ability and accomplishments during their senior soccer season. In addition to this award, Maddie was also named Soccer Player of the Year by the Girls Greater Catholic League (GGCL) during her final season at St. Ursula.

Rebecca Evans is honored to have coached both girls during their careers at St. Ursula.

Maddie is a true captain on and off the field. She works as hard in practice as she does in every game. She is the heart of the team and sets the tone of every game by the way she plays, and her teammates follow.”

Maddie credits her success to her family and coaches. “Being selected to play in the All-American game is a huge honor and one I know I could not have achieved without the help and love of my team, coaches and family. It's truly been an honor and a privilege to have been part of such a supportive and enthusiastic community.”

When asked about Megan’s selection, Coach Evans responded, “Megan is an incredible team leader. Her talent and ability on the soccer field make her an excellent addition to the All-American team.”

Megan is looking forward to traveling to North Carolina and playing one more game with her close friend, Maddie. “The best part of this honor is being named with one of my closest and longest friends, Maddie Huster. We have been playing together since we were 8 and this is a great way to end our high school career together.”

Maddie plans to play soccer for Wake Forest in the fall and Megan will be playing for Ohio University.
