Saint Ursula Academy's Carroll Elected to National Equestrian Board

Emma Carroll

Saint Ursula Academy’s Emma Carroll ’19 of Hyde Park has been named to the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Youth Board. The IEA is the nation’s largest youth equestrian organization, and the largest feeder organization to collegiate equestrian programs.

In an election that spanned five states, riders in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan selected Carroll to represent their interests on the national board.

“The IEA Youth Board is invaluable to our organization,” says IEA co-founder and executive director Roxane Durant. “We have found the Youth Board to be fantastic advocates for IEA and equestrian sport in general.”

Carroll has been a member of IEA since the seventh grade, riding for Childress Rodgers Stables Equestrian Team based in Milford, OH. In addition, Carroll competes individually and is ranked in the top of her division by the Ohio Hunter Jumper Association and the Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association.

Founded in 2002, the IEA started with 175 members on 13 teams and has grown to nearly 14,000 riders in 42 states. The organization’s mission is to introduce students in private and public middle and secondary schools to equestrian sports, and to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction.

Saint Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. Saint Ursula welcomes students from more than 90 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.  The Academy is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of Saint Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910.
