Saint Ursula Academy Students Present Magnified Giving Checks
Magnified Giving
CINCINNATI, OH  (March 25, 2024)  - At Saint Ursula Academy, students are challenged to make a positive impact in the world on a daily basis.  Recently, Heather Williams’ Contemporary Issues in Women’s Health Class made a $1,500 positive impact on two local non-profits, The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and Lighthouse Youth and Family Services.

This impact began in a classroom as students explored current issues that affect the health of girls and women.  Two of the topics selected were Women’s Reproductive Health and Addiction.  As students learned more about these issues, they were encouraged to find local agencies that were providing women with the resources they need as they navigate the particular issue.  From there, they partnered with Magnified Giving to provide financial support for their selected non-profits.

Magnified Giving’s mission is “to educate, inspire, and engage students in philanthropy and to touch the hearts and minds of teens, lighten the concerns of others, and magnify the impact of philanthropy.”  Mrs. William’s students “pitched” their non-profit ideas to a team of judges earlier in March and, in the end, The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and Lighthouse Youth and Family Services were selected as recipients of this year’s gifts.

Students hosted an event last week, inviting members of the community, the agencies receiving the checks, and the leaders of Magnified Giving to the check presentation.  Roger Grein, founder of Magnified Giving, attended the event and encouraged students to continue to be courageous and use their voices to help others.
