3 Saint Ursula Students Named Finalists in National Merit Scholarship Competition

NMSC Finalists

Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce three students have advanced as Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) competition for the 2020-2021 school year. All three were named semifinalists in the fall. They are:

Deirdre Carroll of Kenwood
Marygrace Fagan of Loveland
Elizabeth Volk of Cleves

Deirdre, Marygrace, and Elizabeth each received letters at home notifying them they have advanced to the finals. Over 15,000 of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2020 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in spring 2021.

These young women represent less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

‘These young women are not only great students, they are great people,” said Dr. Mari Thomas, Saint Ursula Academy Principal. “We are incredibly proud of their commitment to their academics and to their growth as young women committed to building a better world. We wish them all the best in the last phase of this national competition.”
