Cincinnati,
Ohio, October 1, 2018 –
Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce it has inducted 98 new members into
the National Honor Society. SUA recognized the new and existing members in a
special ceremony at the Harold C. Schott Gymnasium and Convocation Center at
Saint Ursula Academy on Sunday, September 9.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the
nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school
students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students
who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service,
leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with
membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
To
be eligible, students must have a cumulative GPA of
3.25 after the second semester of their sophomore year to initially qualify for
NHS. Students must exhibit leadership skills, be a woman of character and do an
initial 20 hours of community service to qualify.
Students must meet specific requirements, including active
participation in the annual service project and regular attendance at club
meetings to continue in NHS.
