Saint Ursula Academy's Wainscott Selected as 2015 Greater Cincinnati Teacher of Excellence

Cincinnati, Ohio, April 28, 2015 – Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce that Science teacher Christina Wainscott is among the 2015 Greater Cincinnati Teachers of Excellence. Wainscott, who teaches anatomy and physiology at SUA, was chosen from nominations from public and private schools from across the Greater Cincinnati area. She is one of ten winners for 2015.

Winners were selected based on their track record of excellence in their classroom, school and or community.

“Mrs. Wainscott is a talented science teacher who is loved by her students,” said Saint Ursula Academy principal Craig Maliborski. “In fact, she was nominated for this award at the urging of several of her students which speaks volumes about her effectiveness as a teacher.”

To understand why she earned this award, see some comments from a few of her students.

“Mrs. Wainscott is the person who inspired me to study nursing in college. Her love for          anatomy and chemistry allowed to me want to learn more about those subjects and find        my own interests in them”

“She is a role model for all the students at SUA and you can always count on her to put          a smile on your face.”

“Mrs. Wainscott is the BEST teacher I have ever had. She is an amazing role model               who truly cares about her students and is always giving off positive energy. She makes          learning fun and everyone is always looking forward to her classes!”

“Through the classes she teaches, chemistry and anatomy and physiology, she has truly           inspired me to major in the field of nursing. I appreciate all the hard work, love, and             enthusiasm she puts into her job each and every day.”

“Ms. Wainscott is a role model. She not only is an amazing teacher, but also leads                  National Honor Society with such poise and excitement. Working with her this year in          NHS, I have realized just how much time that Ms. Wainscott has to put in to ensure              that acceptance, induction, graduation, and everything in between goes smoothly. In              the classroom, she has a flare for teaching and a clear passion for the subjects. She is            an integral part of St. Ursula Academy and continues to inspire students every day. “

“Mrs. Wainscott is a great teacher because her main goal is to help every student                   succeed. “

“She is the most caring person and teacher I have ever come to know and I am lucky to         have her in my life. “

In addition to being celebrated at the 2015 Teachers of Excellence Awards Banquet held on the campus of Cincinnati Christian University with 14 guests, Wainscott will receive a $500 shopping spree at the John R. Green Teacher Supply Company (an event sponsor), and a plaque that recognizes her as a Teacher of Excellence.
