Columbus, OH - June 13, 2015 - Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce that Kate Rankin of Anderson Twp, daughter of Robert and Jennifer Rankin, earned the prestigious Jackie Pitts award for women's lacrosse from the U.S. Lacrosse Association.
The award is given out in all 50 states. It is given to a girl with high academic achievement, commitment to service, commitment to the game of lacrosse and to someone who represents her school proudly. The award specifically recognizes a graduating senior in each chapter who truly honors the game of lacrosse, is invested in the development of the game in her community, is an exceptional player who continually strives to improve her game, and is an exemplary member of her team.
Kate exemplifies the spirit of the game and commitment to good sportsmanship, on and off the field. Academically, she is an outstanding student and a valued role model at Saint Ursula Academy.
Kate traveled to Columbus, OH along with SUA Varsity Lacrosse Coach Todd Graham to accept her award. Congratulations to Kate, to Coach Graham, and St. Ursula Academy for preparing her mind, body and spirit for this award!
