SUA Alumna Asha Daniels '06 Earns Spot in Finale on "Project Runway: Under the Gunn" Reality Show on Lifetime Network!

Cincinnati, Ohio, March 28, 2014 – St. Ursula Academy is proud to announce that Cincinnati native and St. Ursula alumna Asha Daniels ‘06, is in the finale of her design reality show!  Asha is one of just four remaining contestants on the design reality show Under the Gunn (a spinoff of the popular Project Runway series)!  She has been competing weekly against other designers since the show began in mid-January.  15 designers started the show and just four are left, including Asha!

In the April 3 show, which was slated to narrow the field of contestants to three for the finale, the judges could not decide who to eliminate and kept all four designers on the show.

Under the Gunn is a new fashion design competition series hosted by Emmy Award-winning Tim Gunn. Asha is the first designer from Cincinnati, Ohio to be selected to compete in a show in the Project Runway franchise.

Asha graduated with honors from St. Ursula Academy in 2006. She took design classes in high school and excelled with the help of design educator Alison Probst. She was chosen from 2,000 applicants to be awarded the Cincinnatus Presidential Scholarship from the University of Cincinnati, where she attended the D.A.A.P. program and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in fashion design.

Asha's mother, Pamela, is not surprised by her daughter's success. "Asha is driven. She is a perfectionist. She never does anything half way. You will always get her best."

Win or lose, here is what Asha says about her experience on the show.  "This show (Under the Gunn) has really helped me feel confident and validated.  I am thrilled to have a platform to show my work and hope it helps me as a I start my own design business."

You can continue to watch Asha Daniels this Thursday, April 3 at 9:00 pm on Lifetime network as she fights for one of three spots in the finale.
