Criteria: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 after the second semester of their sophomore year to initially qualify for NHS. Students must exhibit leadership skills, be a woman of character and do an initial 20 hours of community service to qualify.
Requirements: Requirements for continuing membership are spelled out by chapter bylaws and are approved by the moderator. Active participation in the annual service project is required, as well as regular attendance at club meetings held once a quarter. Membership can be revoked "for reasons of failure to maintain a 3.25 GPA, not doing 30 hours of yearly community service, having behavior inappropriate to an honor society, irregular participation in NHS activities, and failure to attend the initiation ceremony," among other reasons.
Goals & Objectives: To expand students' community service and leadership skills through various activities and service projects.
Outside/after-school activities: NHS yearly service project and induction ceremony
