Saint Ursula Academy Vocal Ensemble (SUAVE) Wins Multiple Awards
Saint Ursula Academy Vocal Ensemble (SUAVE) Wins Multiple AwardsCincinnati, Ohio - May 7, 2017 - SUAVE scored top ratings at two recent regional choral competitions.
The group competed in the "Music in the Parks" competition on Saturday, May 7, 2017 at Loveland High School, meriting the following awards:

In the Women's Choir Division -- 1st Place Trophy with the rating of "Excellent"
In the Jazz Choir Division -- 1st Place Trophy with the rating of "Superior"

Outstanding Soloist Award -- Caroline Feldkamp, for her solo in "Love Is Here to Stay"


Congratulations to all of the SUAVE members: Caroline Feldkamp, Sophia Heller, Caleigh Sambrookes, Melissa Damico, Sarah Geraghty, Olivia Haines, Laura Wiedemann, Maddie Cherry, Megan Copenhaver, Yulia Feist, Kat Sweeney, Reese Talty


SUAVE next headed to Louisville, KY to participate in the "Trills and Thrills" Music Festival and compete in the "Music in the Parks" Competition on Saturday, May 13. SUAVE won the Overall Choral Award in the High School Division! SUAVE also merited the rating of "Superior" for their performance of "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "Love Is Here to Stay," with scores of 95 from both of their judges!

The girls also merited the following awards:

In the Women's Choir Division -- 1st Place Trophy with the rating of "Excellent"
In the Jazz Choir Division -- 1st Place Trophy with the rating of "Superior"
Outstanding Soloist Awards -- Megan Copenhaver & Olivia Haines for their solos in "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing")!


SUAVE also was awarded the Esprit de Corps Award, which is “presented to students from a school who demonstrated proper social behavior as well as musical behavior/encouragement. They possess the qualities of highly successful people who are sensitive to the feelings of others and applaud accomplishments no matter if by one’s own school or another school. Evaluation has taken place from arrival at the festival site to the awards presentation. All schools are eligible for this award, but only one group will have the honor of taking this trophy with them back to their school.”
