Berding, Dieckman Earn Top Academic Honors at Saint Ursula Academy

Cincinnati, Ohio – April 11, 2017 – Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce the top academic honors for its Class of 2017.

Valedictorian is Mary Berding of Indian Hill. The Valedictorian Medal is awarded to the senior who has the highest GPA in the graduating class, as calculated at the end of Term 3 of the senior year. The Valedictorian must have been enrolled at Saint Ursula Academy for a minimum of 6 semesters.

Salutatorian is Catherine Dieckman of Indian Hill. The Salutatorian Medal is awarded to the senior who has the second highest GPA in the graduating class, as calculated at the end of Term 3 of the senior year. The Salutatorian must have been enrolled at Saint Ursula Academy for a minimum of 6 semesters.

“These students work incredibly hard over their four years to earn this honor,” said Saint Ursula Academy Principal Craig Maliborski. “Saint Ursula offers a rigorous curriculum and has many high achieving students, so earning this honor is a very special accomplishment. Congratulations to these young women. We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they do next!”

Saint Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. Saint Ursula welcomes students from more than 90 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Academy is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910. 86% of the Class of 2016 earned college scholarships totaling more than $22-million.
