Cincinnati, Ohio, February 11, 2014 – A winter wonderland greeted nearly 400 guests who attended St. Ursula Academy’s largest fundraising event of the year, the SUA Ball on February 8, 2014. The theme for the 35th annual SUA Ball this year was SUA Snow Ball.
SUA Ball chair-couple Lisa and Andy Castellini of Hyde Park hosted the evening that began with cocktails and a silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner and live auction. Some of the big items up for bid this year include: a Chicago Shopping Spree, a vacation home in Ireland, wine for a year, a Montgomery Inn wine dinner for 10 and an English Bulldog Puppy!
Guests enjoyed raffles, games and delicious food. They also enjoyed high tech bidding with a high-tech handheld device called Bid-Pal. Each guest had a handheld device pre-loaded with every auction item – item description, value, bid increments, and donor information, which made it simple to browse the silent auction area, view items on their personal Bid-Pal, and bid from anywhere at any time during the event.
“This is such a great event. It’s wonderful to have so many people together enjoying the event and each other while supporting St. Ursula Academy in such a significant way” said Liz Johnson, V.P. of Advancement at St. Ursula Academy.
The grand raffle items this year – a 2-year lease on a Rav-4 from Joseph Toyota or $10,000 cash. During the event, the winning ticket was selected. James Sunderhaus, father of Mary Claire ‘15, was the big winner!
All proceeds from the SUA Ball go to the Academy’s general fund and help to support St. Ursula’s educational programming and provide aid for deserving young women.. St. Ursula is grateful to each of the following sponsors for supporting this important event.
