Saint Ursula Academy’s Walsh Accepted to Lindner Honors PLUS Program

Cincinnati, Ohio, March 17, 2018 – Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce Mary Katherine “Katie” Walsh ’18 of Madeira is one of just 25 students accepted into the highly selective Lindner Honors-PLUS (LHP) program at the University of Cincinnati for 2018-2019. 

The Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS program, integrated within the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, is a five year challenging honors program that is designed for highly motivated individuals with superior academic ability and demonstrated leadership skills.

“We are so proud of Katie and all that she has accomplished,” said Saint Ursula Academy Principal Craig Maliborski. “She is a hard-working student and deserving of her selection into the Lindner Honors-PLUS program. We know she will continue to achieve great things as she continues her education.”

The Lindner Honors-PLUS program incorporates: a demanding business honors curriculum, participation in a co-operative education program, an intensive international study-abroad trip and extensive business leadership exposure and training. The PLUS criteria guide the selection of students as well as program expectations. All scholars exemplify the following criteria:
   Promise as a business professional
   Leadership in school and community activities
   Understanding of the global marketplace and diverse cultures
   Success through talent, commitment, dedication and effort

All Lindner Honors-PLUS scholars receive a scholarship that covers full (in-state) tuition.
Only 25-30 applicants are admitted to this program each year, with about 80% from Greater Cincinnati. The freshman class of 2017 had an average ACT score of 31, average class rank of 4.8% and five valedictorians. All had extensive leadership and extracurricular involvement.

Saint Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. Saint Ursula welcomes students from more than 90 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.  The Academy is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910. The Class of 2018 earned college scholarships totaling more than $21-million.                                                      ###
