St. Ursula Academy Announces National Merit Semifinalist

Cincinnati, Ohio – September 11, 2013 - St. Ursula Academy is proud to announce that Clare Rahner of Mt. Washington was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as a semifinalist for 2013-2014.

Semifinalists are chosen by finishing in the top 1% of students nationwide who took that PSAT exam as juniors. The academically talented high school seniors, including Ms. Rahner, will continue in the competition for more than $36-million in National Merit Scholarships. They are among 16,000 semifinalists who will have an opportunity to compete next spring for 8,000 Merit Scholarship awards worth more than $35-million. Finalists will be notified in February 2014 and National Merit Scholarships will be offered in March 2014.

St. Ursula Academy teachers and students work together to participate in an educational process that promotes critical thinking, problem solving techniques, and higher level thinking. All are necessary elements for success on the PSAT test, which determines those chosen for the National Merit Program.
