Saint Ursula's Baker Wins $20,000 Munoz Foundation Scholarship

Cincinnati, Ohio, July 6, 2016 –Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce senior Alaze Baker ‘16 is the recipient of a 2016 Anthony Muñoz Foundation $20,000 Scholarship. Baker met all of the criteria for the scholarship, which requires she:
• Attend a high school in the designated impact area
• Be enrolled in or entering an eligible Tri-state college or university
• Display a desire to overcome adversity and demonstrate a financial need

“Alaze has shown a deep desire to succeed since the day she entered Saint Ursula Academy, Her spirit and enthusiasm is contagious. We are so proud of her and know she will continue to succeed at Miami University this fall!”

The scholarships are offered to up to seven area students each year. They are distributed over four years and require students maintain a minimum grade point average in their college studies.

The Anthony Muñoz Scholarship Fund was created by Anthony Muñoz and his family to support Tri-State youth in achieving their dreams of attending a local college or university.

Saint Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. Saint Ursula welcomes students from more than 90 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Academy is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910. 86% of the Class of 2016 earned college scholarships totaling more than $22-million.
