Saint Ursula Academy's Jerow Participates in Athletic Signing Ceremony

Cincinnati, Ohio – Thursday, February 2, 2017 – Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce that senior Riley Jerow ‘17 participated in a college athletic signing ceremony on Thursday, February 2, 2017 to announce her intent to play college sports.

Riley Jerow of Bridgetown, daughter of Brandy and Gary Jerow, has committed to play Division 2 Basketball at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia.

Riley has played varsity basketball as a starter at Saint Ursula all four years. During her time as a player, she was named Student Athlete of the Week and honored with the Bulldog Award in basketball for two years.

She was named Second Team All-League and All-City Honorable mention, each for three years.

Riley is the 3-point shot leader on her team and has been in the top 10 or better in rebounding, scoring, steals, and blocks.

Riley is as strong in the classroom as she is on the court. She earned first honors every term at SUA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

She is also very active in several clubs and student organizations at Saint Ursula. She was selected to serve as a Student Ambassador. She is a member of the Catholic Social Teaching Action Team (CSTAT), the Good Samaritan Club, Earth Club and the Robotics Club. She is also a student tutor in the Bulldog Academic Resource Center (BARC).

Her Varsity SUA Coach, Jill Meiring, said this about Riley, “When coaches wish for a player who understands the game of basketball, who works hard on and off the court, and who cares passionately for her team...they are talking about a player like Riley. As a four-year letter winner, Riley possesses tremendous loyalty and dedication to the program, but also has made a huge impact with her ability to be a triple threat...she can score, rebound and defend. Riley has been a big part of our success this year and, while we're going to miss her a lot next year, I'm very excited she has an opportunity to play basketball at the next level. I know she will be a successful part of the Wheeling Jesuit program and I'm looking forward to cheering her on and watching her grow as a player and a person.”

Riley’s club coach from Cincy Swish, Nick Baltimore said, “"Riley is a true definition of a gym rat. You won't find many players who work as hard as she does in all facets of the game. She is going to be very successful in the next chapter of her life because of that!"
