Saint Ursula Academy French Honor Society Inducts Four New Members

Cincinnati, Ohio, December 11, 2015 – Saint Ursula Academy is proud to announce 4 new members to the French Honor Society. The new members were inducted into the Honor Society during a special ceremony at the school on December 3.

The new members are:

  • Hayley Graham of Pleasant Ridge
  • Kate Liesch of Green Township
  • Lillie Listermann of Batavia Township
  • Madison Poon of Anderson Township

In order to be inducted into the French Honor Society, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 in French during the semester of initiation as well as a 3.00 or better in all other classes during that time. Students must exhibit leadership skills and an interest in French cultural activities. Students must be enrolled in French 4, French 4 Honors or higher during the semester of induction.

French Teacher Kim Icsman presented the awards to the students. “We are so proud of these young ladies. They have not only demonstrated academic excellence in the French language, but also a strong desire to explore the French and other Francophone cultures beyond the classroom,” said Iscman.

St. Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. St. Ursula welcomes students from more than 70 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. In 2002 the Academy was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910. The Class of 2015 earned college scholarships totaling more than $19-million.
