Salad Bowl Lunch Series Features DeeDee Foster

Cincinnati, Ohio – October 27, 2017 –– Saint Ursula Academy students were treated to a special presentation from nationally renowned performer/artist DeeDee Foster. It was part of Saint Ursula’s regular Salad Bowl Lunch Series hosted by the Hands Across Campus student club.

Ms. Foster, a native of Cincinnati, lives in Los Angeles, CA as a performer. She spoke to the students about overcoming obstacles and pursuing their dreams. She encouraged students to ask for help from others and take a risk in order to make a dream come true. Students were challenged to set goals, work hard to achieve those goals, and then modify those goals to challenge themselves once again. “The sky’s the limit if you are willing to work hard!” said Foster.

DeeDee Foster moved to Los Angeles to pursue her singing career after graduating from Central State University in Ohio, where she received her BA in Music Education. DeeDee lives and breathes music with musical talent that runs deep in her veins. Undaunted by Hollywood, DeeDee followed her passion and moved to Los Angeles, CA, in pursuit of a professional singing career. With a unique indie sound and a powerful vocal range, this Central State alumna has successfully built a career as a solo artist and professional backing vocalist. DeeDee has toured the world sharing the stage with many household names, including ANASTACIA, BEYONCÉ, RIHANNA, CELINE DION, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, STEVIE WONDER and more recently BOY GEORGE & CULTURE CLUB. She enjoys singing to the top of the stratosphere. Her music has soul. It’s her passion, the message behind her words that truly resonate with her fans. Her songs take you on a journey, one of healing and inspiration. Her music is for everyone. No matter where you're from, how you look, or what you listen to, she will catch your attention and keep it, while raising both your pulse and the temperature of the venue. DeeDee Foster has come quite a long way. With a successful first solo project, that she produced and co-wrote, "The DeeDee Foster E.P.,” a second album in the works and upcoming tours, DeeDee is living for now. Full-steam ahead and not looking back, DeeDee Foster continues to bulldoze her path. Her history is remarkable, yes, but it's undeniable that her time is here.

Saint Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women known for academic excellence and rich tradition. Saint Ursula welcomes students from more than 90 grade schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Academy is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910. The Class of 2017 earned college scholarships totaling more than $21-million.
