St. Ursula Academy Parents' Club Welcomes You!

Welcome to St. Ursula Parents' Club, an organization comprised of parents and guardians of all students. The purpose of Parents' Club is to assist the administration and faculty in fulfilling its mission - preparing women for a changing world.  The Parents' Club facilitates various activities and events throughout the year. The activities for the first school term include: Freshman/Parent Mass and Reception, Back to School Night, Senior Bonding Dinner-Boat Ride, and the Parents' Club Fall Luncheon.  In addition, the Dawg House, which is stocked with a great supply of uniform shirts, sweatshirts, leggings, gym shorts and shirts and SUA spiritwear, needs volunteers throughout the school year.

Please contact me with any questions regarding Parents' Club.

Sincerely,

Susan S. DuBrul

Parents' Club Reminders
for Senior Parents

  • Remember camera - We often hear our daughters at the end of their senior year wish they had taken more pictures during the year. Remind her to start taking pictures early.
  • Graduation Announcements - In January or February, you will receive a packet of information from Graduate Services/Herff Jones. This is when you must order the announcements. If you do not receive a packet, call them at 831-2039.
  • Fall Senior Bonding Dinner-Boat Ride An evening for the seniors in the fall on a B&B Riverboat. All seniors are encouraged to attend. Attire is "dressy casual".
  • Awards Assembly - This is a dress-up event for the students, faculty and staff.
  • May Crowning - Senior mothers are invited to attend this event with their daughters.
  • Senior Tea - This is a formal tea. The most appropriate attire for this event is a dressy spring afternoon dress. Slacks, pants, or mini-skirts are not acceptable for this occasion. The student's shoulders should be covered, thin straps are not appropriate, nor are backless or low-cut dresses. The girls carry a single rose provided by the parents' club. The girls are encouraged to wear white gloves and hats. Each senior receives three tickets for this event. (Sisters of seniors who also attend SUA do not need tickets but are invited.)
  • Senior Mass and Reception - Only students and their parents are invited to this event. Attire is dressy.
  • Graduation - Seniors wear ankle-length or tea-length (mid-calf) white (not ivory) dresses. Short dresses above the knees are not acceptable. The dresses should not have any decoration or trim. The dresses should have at least 1 inch straps to cover shoulders; thin straps are not appropriate. The style of the dress should be suitable for young women at an academic ceremony. Particularly under a white dress, proper underwear must be worn, including a long slip. Students wear white gloves which may be long or short. Their shoes should be white with heels low enough to the ground to enable them to walk easily up and down steps. Each student carries a bouquet of long-stemmed red roses which are provided. Parents are provided with two reserved seat tickets for graduation.  Open seating is available for other guests.
  • Senior Greetings for the Yearbook

Note: The principal reserves the right to withhold the diploma of any graduate and/or deny her the right to participate in the graduation ceremony if she deems the graduate's attire inappropriate at graduation or any other academy sponsored event.
