Academy students inducted into Spanish Honor Society
Thirty-five St. Ursula Academy students recently
were inducted into the Spanish Honor Society. The honorees include Lucy
Abare of Mt. Lookout, Lisa Alban of Anderson Twp., Leah Baker of Independence,
Ky., Katie Bettner of Delhi, Emily Carroll of Anderson Twp., Maggie Deremo of
Green Twp., Anne Dirkes of Indian Hill, Libby Dorger of Anderson Twp., Ally
Gibler of Anderson Twp., Liz Heskett of Glendale, Kortney Holt of Mt. Airy, Tori
Huster of Madeira, Erin Hummeldorf of Mt. Washington, Leigh Jennings of Green
Twp., Hannah Kitzmiller of Anderson Twp., Caroline MacKenzie of Symmes Twp.,
Laura Grace Mezher of Anderson Twp., Katie Mideli of Anderson Twp., Maggie
Millea of Delhi, Kathy O'Connor of Anderson Twp., Josie O'Toole of Anderson

Union Twp., Grace Tucker of Hyde Park, and Hannah Witte of Price Hill.
Spanish teacher Linda Strotman
of Delhi says that membership requirements for the Spanish Honor Society include
an A- or better average in the 4th year level of Spanish, and the
students should have an interest in studying Spanish in college. The Spanish
Honor Society sponsors a girl from the Dominican Republic and helps out at the
Hispanic Festival at SU CASA, the Hispanic Ministry House.
St. Ursula
Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women.
In 2002 the academy was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue
Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut
Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since
1910.
