Thirty-five St. Ursula Academy students inducted into Spanish Honor Society
Thirty-five St. Ursula Academy students recently were inducted into the Spanish
Honor Society. The honorees are Abby Atwell (Anderson Twp), Casey Bommer
(Montfort Hgts), Kelsey Bowman (Colerain), Megan Butler (Delhi), Melissa
Callahan (White Oak), Alexis Capeci (Miami Hgts), Katie Carrothers (Westwood),
Colleen Connaughton (Anderson Twp), Taylor Daggett (Eastgate), Carly Deremo
(Green Twp), Brooke Dorger (Anderson), Megan Ehrman (Bridgetown), Melissa
Gartner (Anderson), Abby Gruber (Anderson Twp), Margaret Guerney (Amberly
Village), Erin Hecht (Anderson Twp), Allison Hill (White Oak), Olivia Hnat (West
Chester), Laurie Jacob (Delhi), MacKenzie Jones (Dent), Andrea Lankester (New
Richmond), Katie Liming (Anderson), Anna Luber (Villa Hills), Ellen Manegold
(Delhi), Megan Mock (Hyde Park), Jordan Moore (Anderson), Austin Perry (Mt.
Lookout), Megan Rogg (Delhi), Alice Romanelli (Hyde Park), Kelsey Sharkey (Hyde
Park), Gina Shinn (Green Twp), Ashley Stoker (Miami Twp), Aiesha White
(Madisonville), Sarah Woebkenberg (Montgomery), and Shannon Wooliver (Anderson
Twp).
Spanish teacher Linda Strotman(Delhi) says that membership requirements for the
Spanish Honor Society include an A- or better average in the 4th year level of
Spanish, and the students should have an interest in studying Spanish in
college. The Spanish Honor Society sponsors a girl from the Dominican Republic
and helps out at the Hispanic Festival at SU CASA, the Hispanic Ministry House.
St. Ursula
Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women.
In 2002 the academy was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue
Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut
Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since
1910.
