St. Ursula Academy hires head soccer coach

Cincinnati, Ohio, Jan. 26, 2007:

St. Ursula Academy hired David Ruehl for its head soccer coach position, effective immediately.  Ruehl comes to the academy with extensive coaching experience including 10 years as head varsity coach at Elder High School.  Says St. Ursula Academy Athletic Director Mike Sipes, "I'm excited to have Dave join the Bulldog family. He brings a much needed combination of club and high school head coaching experience and  I know he will bring a great deal of enthusiasm and experience to our program as we all strive to continue the excellent tradition that St. Ursula soccer is known for.”

Ruehl also is excited about coming to St. Ursula Academy.  "I feel that this is the top position for girls soccer in the city of Cincinnati, and definitely as far as the state goes.  I see athletics as being an important part of the high school educational process.  The core of my philosophy is helping young people reach their athletic, academic and personal potential.  I take it upon myself to make a conscious effort to make a connection with every player in our program, not just the varsity team.”

St. Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women.  In 2002 the academy was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910.
