Principal Frances Romweber announces retirement

Principal Frances Romweber recently announced her retirement to the St. Ursula Academy community. Though saddened to leave after 11years as principal, and before that as an English teacher at SUA, Mrs. Romweber is looking forward to her retirement with her family. In consideration of the efforts it will take to replace someone whose energetic leadership of St. Ursula has brought tremendous success to the Academy, President Judith Wimberg has expressed gratitude that Mrs. Romweber is giving the Academy ample time to find a replacement; and she will continue serving as principal through the 2008-2009 school year.

A Search Committee has been formed through the Board of Trustees to undertake the task of seeking applications for a new principal. With the generous amount of time Mrs. Romweber has given us, the Committee is hopeful of having a candidate to present to the Board for final approval in the spring and have the “principal-elect” on staff next year so that she/he can learn the demands of the principalship and more importantly appreciate the uniqueness and traditions of St. Ursula Academy.

Mrs. Romweber has been a real gift to St. Ursula Academy. She has exemplified the mission of its foundress, St. Angela Merici with integrity and courage in her duties as leader and role model to young women. She will be greatly missed.

Review of applications begins immediately and interested candidates may send a current resume and cover letter addressing what gifts they would bring to St. Urusla Academy and why they want to be its principal to:
