St. Ursula Academy sophomores are HOBY participants

St. Ursula Academy sophomores Jillian Baker and Megan Mock have recently been selected to participate in the Southwest Ohio Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference (HOBY) this summer.  Baker and Mock will join more than 355,000 students who have gone through the program since 1958.

The purpose of HOBY is to bring together a select group of high school sophomores who have potential or have demonstrated leadership ability.  HOBY also introduces students to distinguished leaders of the community from various sectors such as business, technology, education, government, arts and sciences.  During the June Conference, the students will be able to get a realistic look at the nation, its people and the students’ role in the community through intense but informal panel discussions.

St. Ursula guidance counselor Debra Dill says that she is an excellent student who is on the SUA Academic Team, she is a school ambassador, a member of the Earth Club and Student Outreach Services (SOS) wherein she volunteers at a local soup kitchen.
