Senior Adrianne Eby wins Cappies Award

Senior Adrianne Eby received the Cappies Award for “Lead Actress in a Musical” in St. Xavier High School’s “Miss Saigon” this year.  The award ceremony, which took place on May 13 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, honored more than 50 students from 28 area high schools for excellence in theatre during the 2006-07 academic year. The winners were voted on by student critic teams in artistic and technical categories.  In addition to her trophy, Adrianne and other lead actors who received Cappies Awards this year, were chosen and guaranteed spots in a 29-day “Theatre Camp” to be held in Washington, D.C. this summer. At the camp there will be 50 participants from all over the U.S. who will stay with a host families, and they will perform in three plays/musicals, one film, and one professional sound recording.       


St. Ursula Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory, secondary school for young women.  In 2002 the academy was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. The campus, located at 1339 E. McMillan Street in East Walnut Hills has been the home of St. Ursula Academy and Convent since 1910.
