Special Instructions: Take careful notes as you read. Focus on plot,
characterization, themes, and language. There is a pre-reading exercise to complete before reading
each novel (see below). There is also a study guide to use while reading both
works. Review/study your notes and the study guides before the test.
Assignment: There will be an objective reading test on the works and what appears in the study guides during the first week of school. We will talk about the works during the school year, so please keep your books and notes.
