Actively read underline/highlight/take notes in the margin of the appropriate assignment. You will be held accountable for having completed the reading during the first week of English class. Reading casually or reading an abridgement such as Cliff’s Notes or Spark Notes  will not prepare you for the test, activity, essay, or class discussion.
