Charitable Giving - Outside Requests
 

GOALS

1.      To educate our students about SUA Annual Fund Drive, Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) program, Advancement/Alumnae events and overall philanthropic values.

2.     December 1st - two (2) non-profit organizations announced for second half of the school year and communicated by Students for Advancement (SFA).

3.     May 1st - two (2) non-profit organizations announced for first half of the next school year and communicated by Students for Advancement (SFA).

TIMELINE

August

·        Club Fair to recruit new members and establish SFA for SUA - Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) program. Club meetings occur at least once a month.

September - October

·        Staff Moderator partners with SFA Executive Committee to process charitable applications.

·        Charitable requests are reviewed at SFA for SUA meetings and members determine criteria and areas of focus, communicating with non-profit organization, following SUA Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) program guidelines, SUA mission and timeline.

·        Education about SUA's mission, Annual Fund Drive, Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) program, Advancement/Alumnae events and overall philanthropic values will be discussed at monthly meetings.

·        SFA for SUA student club members are asked to educate SUA students and constituents about cultivating the vine.

·        Letters of application are accepted all year long. Secretary and Moderator send letters of receipt.

November

IMPORTANT DATE: November 1st - deadline for applications for second half of the current school year.

·        SFA for SUA determine bi-annual support for second half of the school year.

·        Charitable requests are reviewed at SFA meetings, occurring at least once a month.

·        Organize a way for SUA Students, Faculty & Staff to celebrate
National Philanthropy Day (November 5, 2010), celebrating the many donors who support SUA and who we support. 

December

IMPORTANT DATE: December 1st - two (2) non-profit organizations announced for SUA support during the second half of the current school year.

·        Letters of application are accepted all year long. Secretary and Moderator send letters of acceptance, supporting two (2) non-profit organizations. 

January- March
