P.A.A.D. (Parents of African American Daughters)
Young Women's Institute (YWI)
The goal of the Young Women's Institute is to build-up
and support young women and girl leaders so that they can improve their own
lives and transform their communities Participants will be immersed in a
challenging, exciting activities that lets them discover their potential,
make lasting friendships, and build skills that will help them in high
school, college, and beyond. This is a year round enrichment and mentoring
program focuses on students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
The program will also introduce participants to study skills, diversity
activities and volunteerism.
The YWI program goals:
To empower and inspire 6th - 8th grade girls to become the next generation of leaders
To bring together girls from diverse backgrounds.
To provide a venue to extend girls' voices and teach networking skills.
To introduce to elementary and middle school age students to college preparatory high school environment.
Dates
Advance registration is require for all programs and activities.
December 3, 2011 10am - 2pm (all day retreat at Saint Ursula Academy)
December 19,2011 6pm - 8pm (holiday gathering at Saint Ursula Academy)
January 16, 2012 11am - 3pm (at Cincinnati Museum Center Outing/volunteer day)
Homework Labs dates 3:30pm - 4:30pm ( by appointment only)
