Director of Recruitment
Ms. Vonderhaar is entering her 10th year working at Saint Ursula
Academy. A proud mother of two graduates (’06 and ’09) she has seen
first hand the benefits of the SUA whole student education.
Passionate about the opportunities for each individual student, Ms.
Vonderhaar is the coordinator of the SUA Shadow program and moderator of
the Ambassador and Diplomat Clubs. Through the Shadow Program, she
matches prospective students with a current student for a day at SUA!
The Ambassadors and Diplomats are the faces of the Academy students who
can be seen helping at all school events and are a wealth of information
about life as a Bulldog.
As both a mother of students and a staff member at the Academy, Ms.
Vonderhaar has been instrumental in the development of new admission
events which will provide specific information for each prospective
student. Showcase night will feature brief presentations and round table
type discussion with a cross section of the SUA academy. This past
summer was the first “Future Leaders” Workshop and was a smashing
success. Ms. Vonderhaar will expand the summer offerings heading into
2010!
In her free time, Ms. Vonderhaar is an avid Bengal fan, does home
improvement projects, and excels in the sport of SHOPPING. To get a way
from it all, she will head out to her favorite camping site or find a
good book! Ms. Vonderhaar grew up on the West Side, where she currently
resides, and attended the Union Institute and University.
Sarah Catlin
Director of Admissions and Retention
Ms. Catlin enters her first year at SUA. Having spend the last 11 years
working with college women, Ms. Catlin knows what it takes at the
secondary level to insure success at the collegiate level.
After graduating from Bucknell University, Ms. Catlin went on to work at
Columbia University, Miami(OH) University, and most recently La Salle
University in Philadelphia. A college coach, she had extensive
experience in the recruitment of high school students. Believing the
education of all students to be of utmost importance, she guided her
teams to National rankings in GPA, including 2 academic “championships”
for Div I field hockey.
Graduating with distinction from the Masters in Professional
Communication program at La Salle University, Ms. Catlin has relished
the opportunity to return to secondary education. She will look to
enhance the outstanding use of technology at SUA in the classroom by
expanding its application in the Admissions process. In the upcoming
months, SUA will roll out its updated web site, an admission blog site,
and be posting comments on Twitter via SUABULLDOGS!
When not hanging out with the Bulldogs, Ms. Catlin takes her dog, Kelty,
for walks. An avid football fan, she likes the neighboring rival
Indianapolis Colts! Ms. Catlin also coaches the Bulldog field hockey
team and enjoys watching Top Chef and NCIS! She is a native of Vermont
and currently lives in Newtown.
