Admissions Policy
Class of 2017

Completed applications, test scores, and academic records are examined by the admissions committee. The committee seeks applicants that show readiness for the rigorous college preparatory atmosphere at Saint Ursula Academy. HSPT scores along with grade school records will be the primary criteria for selection. Legacy will be considered as a positive attribute only, meaning a lack of legacy will not hurt an applicant. In very specific situations, the committee may ask for a reference to address a specific area of question or the committee may contact the grade school principal to follow up on a specific issue.

In accordance with the Archdiocese calendar, the admissions committee will send acceptance and rejection letters on January 4th, 2013. An acceptance letter will also include financial aid offers, notification of academic scholarship, and notification of conditional acceptance. Per the Archdiocese policy, no one from Saint Ursula will contact any accepted student until January 10th, 2012. However, an applicant may contact the Director of Admissions or Director of Recruitment to clarify any questions or concerns.

Registration for the Class of 2017 will be January 18th. Families may register between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm. Should this date pose a conflict, please notify the Director of Admissions as soon as possible. All registration materials will be included in the acceptance packet.

After the enrollment date (January 18, 2013), a wait list for admission will be used if the class is filled. To be placed on the wait list, a student must be accepted for admission to St. Ursula Academy. The student will be placed in the order in which the family notifies the school of their desire to be on the wait list.

For the Class of 2017, the admissions committee will award several merit awards for excellence in academics. These scholarships are renewed EVERY year as long as the student maintains a grade point average above a 3.0. These scholarships are not part of the financial aid awards and are based on academic excellence only. Financial aid is outlined under the tuition and financial aid page located on the right hand menu bar. Saint Ursula provides over $400,000 in financial aid to approximately 20% of the student body every year.
