Welcome to Saint Ursula Academy!
In our 100th year of providing outstanding secondary education, SUA
would love to show YOU the life long benefits of being a Bulldog.
Whether you are an outstanding scholar, performer, athlete, or woman of
faith, the Academy has a place for you to excel and explore. On the
cutting edge of education, including our nationally renowned Table PC
program, there is no end to the opportunity to pursue what you value!
Just last year we saw the largest number of National Merit scholars
graduate since 1999, placing us first among Catholic girls schools and
third in the city overall. This testament to the academic preparation
can be seen in the entire class of 2009, who claimed over 23 million
dollars in scholarship money for college. With 100% of the class
accepted to college this fall, the academic strength leaves little to be
desired, no matter the kind of learner you are.
With a “Work hard, play hard” mentality, SUA students excel in their
extracurricular activities as well. The athletics programs routinely
capture league titles and lay claim to 14 State Championship. Numerous
student athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level and
receive athletic scholarship awards. A four time winner of the Harold A.
Meyer Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award from the OHSAA shows our
commitment to athletics as part of our whole person education.
The Fine Arts program at SUA consistently excels on a National level.
There are opportunities to be apart of the programs for academic class
credit and/or an extracurricular activity. The theater group puts on
several productions a year, including a special freshman/sophomore
winter play. A two time International Fringe Festival invitee, the
theater department often takes their “show on the road”. The vocal
ensemble has performed several times at Carnegie Hall. Regional and
National award winners are consistently represented by Saint Ursula
Academy performers, giving great preparation for future vocal careers.
The Orchestra sees similar success for a wide variety of instruments and
travels to several venues for competitions. Finally our Art and Design
students consistently place pieces in the annual scholastic competition.
Several students from this program are accepted into the prestigious
DAAP program at the University of Cincinnati.
The footprints left at SUA simply show the opportunity available for
you! We pride ourselves in supporting students who pursue their own path
towards their next step. With a four year guidance program, each student
receives customized advice on adjusting to the rigor of college
preparatory education and the college application process.
