Student Council Rules and Regulations

2008-2009

 

  • Student Council Officers and Class officers run as individual candidates.

 

  • Students vote for two candidates on the ballot and the top two winners become the Student Council co-presidents and the candidate with the next highest number of votes become secretary.

 

  • Class Officers are elected from the entire class body and will be assigned to individual homerooms. Students vote for three Class Officers on the ballot. The top two winners become both class co-presidents and class officers in homerooms. The remaining top seven candidates also become class officers in homerooms. All nine class officers also serve as student advisors and will take class issues and ideas to class moderators, Student Council officers, and administration.

 

  • Candidates running for office who do not win their election are expected to run for the next position and will be included on the ballot. Those who choose not to run must immediately inform their class moderators so that their names will be removed from the ballot.

 

  • Newly elected class officers must introduce themselves to their class moderator by Monday,  April 21 at 3pm.

 

  • Election signs and materials may be posted and distributed for five days before presentation. Check the handbook for restrictions
