HEALTH
(1 term, ½ credit, required)
Health is a one-term course required of all students. It includes
the study of physical and mental wellness; the effects of the use of alcohol,
tobacco and illicit drugs; nutrition; sexually transmitted infections,
including HIV and AIDS education. The moral aspect of sex education
is taught in conjunction with the religion department Cardio-pulmonary
resuscitation certification and first aid certification are also components
of this course.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
(Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh or Twelfth Grade, 1 term, ¼ credit,
Required)
Students are required to take two terms of Physical Education courses
for a total of ½ credit. These courses are generally taken
in grades nine and ten. Team sports and individual sports alternate
yearly. The following team and individual sports and activities are
offered: Aerobics; Archery; Badminton; Bowling; Basketball; Biking;
Dance; Field Hockey; Flag Football; Floor Hockey; Golf; Physical Fitness;
Pickle Ball; Rock-Climbing; Rugby; Self-Defense; Soccer; Volleyball; Water
Aerobics; Yoga.
