Casey Basil, Varsity Head Coach
Casey Basil is in his third year coaching the varsity softball team. He grew up playing basketball, football, and wrestling, but baseball was his passion. Casey was a three-year varsity starter at St. Xavier High School. That same year he was part of the Midland Redskins club team that took home the Connie Mack National Championship. His baseball career continued on at Indiana University before an injury ended his playing career. When his daughter, Olivia (SUA ‘25), fell in love with softball at a young age, Casey turned his attention there. He loves the fundamentally-sound, fast-paced, enthusiastic nature of the game. Casey started the softball program at St. Mary School in Hyde Park in 2015. He helped start Cincy Flames Fastpitch (with the Cincy Flames baseball club) in 2019. Casey resides in Mt. Lookout with his wife Catherine, daughter Olivia, and son Caleb.
